Seventy-five Oklahoma CareerTech students met at the state Capitol on Tuesday, Feb. 27 to speak to legislators about how career and technology education helps teens prepare for careers and college. There are 7 career tech organizations: Business Professionals of America (BPA), DECA (formerly Distributive Education Clubs of America), Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Future Health Professionals (HOSA), Technology Student Association (TSA) and SkillsUSA. In attendance from Silo were James Clark, Southeast Region Vice President of HOSA and current high school student, Kayla Poling, Southeast Area Vice President FFA and Silo alumni, Brandon Weibel, FCCLA State President and current Silo student, and Mrs. Ashley West, Silo FCCLA sponsor.
